WRITER/ DIRECTOR - Carlos Prias was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. Since he was a teenager was interested in books and movies. After completing his high school, he studied three semesters at the Universidad de los Andes musical composition program. However, following his need to tell stories, and following the path of several of his favorite authors and directors, Carlos began to study philosophy. During this period of time Carlos took several Art courses related to video, in which he directed some short films. Carlos finished his bachelor in philosophy in 2012, presenting a thesis about cinema entitled "Towards a political art through film", which was later published by the university. He got graduated with honors, getting a cum laude distinction. After graduating Carlos Prias held various jobs. He worked as an assistant to a sculptor, then he worked as a cameraman and editor in a production company of corporate videos, and finally he was hired as school teacher, where he taught courses in Art History and Philosophy. Now, Carlos Prias is starting his MFA in Cinema Directing at Columbia College.
PRODUCER - Diego Sardi is a graduate student of the MFA in Creative Producing at Columbia College Chicago. He was born and raised in a rural region of Uruguay. While pursuing his Bachelor in Communications at the University of Montevideo, his passion became developing story ideas and having them come to life in film. Producing films: his calling. He graduated in 2012, with studies in film producing and organizational communication. After graduating, he received a Fulbright scholarship to pursue his graduate studies in film producing in the USA.
He has produced narrative fiction films and documentaries that received national and international awards. Some of his most recent works are a documentary co-produced with a South African production company and micro documentaries for UNICEF and the United Nations. As a filmmaker, he believes that the most impactful revolutions begin inside the individual. He is interested in telling stories that ignite the fire that lives within each person and inspiring them to believe in themselves, in the people who surround them, and in the transcendence of the life.
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY - Alex has been telling stories through video for the past 6 years. He enjoys the unique challenges of expressing story and emotion visually, whether its capturing a rare moment in documentary or finessing the lighting in narrative. Over the years, Alex had opportunities to work for Emmy Award Winning Director, Jeff Spitz and Sundance Cinematography Award winner, Dana Kupper. Alex specializes in collaborating with directors as either a Director of Photography or Gaffer. In his spare time Alex works on personal experimental projects, exploring the effects of cinematography and music on audiences in a non-narrative context.
